ISIS Militants Will Be Rewarded ‘Sex Slaves’ For Winning A Quran Learning Competition
Muhammad Usman Shakeel
To celebrate the holy month of Ramdan, Islamic State militants have decided to organise a competition to promote the reading of Quran. Muslims strongly believe that Prophet Mohammad received the holy book during this month. Hence, it is highly encouraged for ISIS ‘soldiers’ to read Quran during the month of Ramdan. The contest was announced on 19th June, 2015.
What is the competition?
It is a Quran memorization contest in which participants have to memorise the most warlike passages in the entire book, since the militants believe that Ramadan is the ideal time for religious extremism.
What is the reward?
The prize for challenge victors will be sex slaves. The Da’wa and Mosques Department in Al-Baraka area in Syria will utilize ladies as prizes. The act of doling out people as prizes is called “sibya.”
Where will these girls come from?
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported in 2014 that 300 Yazidi girls had been captured in Iraq. The U.K.-based monitoring group said that the girls had been sold to ISIS militants in Syria for $1000 (₹ 63,500).
What did the advertisement for the competition say?
To the soldiers of the Islamic State in all of the departments in the province of el-Baraqa.
